Saudi Arabia lifts its ban on Lebanese imports

On 10 June 2026 Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman directed the resumption of Lebanese exports to the kingdom, ending a ban of close to five years.
The ban began in 2021 on Lebanese fruit and vegetables after shipments were intercepted containing Captagon, and was extended months later to all Lebanese products following comments by Lebanon's then information minister, George Kordahi. Riyadh said the decision to lift it reflected positive steps by the Lebanese government in rebuilding state institutions and meeting required commitments.
Lebanese exports to Saudi Arabia were worth about $240m in 2020. Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said the move would support the Lebanese economy and open new horizons for producers and exporters.
