On 24 August 2026 French President Emmanuel Macron announced a €6bn Saudi-backed investment to develop three theme parks at Cergy-Pontoise, northwest of Paris, during a two-day official visit by the Saudi crown prince and prime minister.
Macron described it as the largest development of its kind in France since Disneyland Paris, expected to create 22,000 jobs. It includes a major park inspired by the Japanese manga and anime franchise Dragon Ball.
The project is financed by Qiddiya as part of its growing international footprint. Qiddiya describes the agreement as a memorandum of understanding — the start of joint work to define the scope, subject to the applicable approvals in France.
