Oman Air presses on with network expansion despite regional disruption

Oman Air added destinations through 2026 including Sochi, Taif, Singapore and Tashkent. On 2 July 2026 it launched a non-stop Muscat–Singapore service four times weekly, a flight of roughly eight hours operated by a Boeing 737 MAX — among the longest routes flown by the type anywhere.

Chief executive Con Korfiatis said the airline is targeting North Asian markets — China, Japan and South Korea — with a new route expected within twelve months.

The carrier serves 45 destinations with a fleet of 33 aircraft, expected to reach 39 by 2029, and plans to retire all older-generation Boeing 737s by mid-2026. The expansion is taking place in a region that has seen cancellations and rerouting of Gulf air traffic.
