IMF expects medium-term growth of around 4% for Qatar

An IMF team led by Nathan Porter concluded its visit to Doha from 25 January to 5 February 2026 for the 2026 Article IV consultation, publishing its statement on 11 February.
Growth recovered to 2.4% in 2024 and strengthened to around 3% through the third quarter of 2025, and is expected to average around 4% over the medium term.
The Fund attributes this to a significant expansion of LNG production and to growth in non-hydrocarbon activity, supported by strong macroeconomic management and reform implementation under the Third National Development Strategy.
